DuPlessis Orthodontics

Dr. John DuPlessis Jr.’s connections to 91¸£ÀûÉç began when he started college. He had earned the $500 Mary Hopper Trigg Scholarship, which allowed him to complete two years of college debt-free before transferring to the University of 91¸£ÀûÉç. Now an Distinguished Alumi, DuPlessis and his wife, Julia, also established the Culinary Arts Scholarship.

“My scholarship meant a lot to me when I went to ECC,” he said. “I’m just paying it back.”

He chose to serve on the Foundation Board because he recognizes the college’s impact on
individuals as well as the quality of life and economic vitality of the entire region.

“I believe in Dr. Pate’s vision and what he wants the college to do. It will be another proud moment in my life if I have any part of making that happen,” he said.

DuPlessis has practiced orthodontics in Elizabethtown for 34 years. His daughter is now his partner in DuPlessis Orthodontics and he plans to retire in 2022. He serves various community organizations including the Rotary Club of Elizabethtown, cares for the walking trail near Freeman Lake in Elizabethtown, and is active at his parish, Saint James Catholic Church.

He and his wife live in Elizabethtown and have three children and two grandchildren.
